Option 1: Control Matter devices directly from Loxone app
NOTES
In the video we mention to create a loxone "virtual device" in the mobile app. What we wanted to say is to use the Loxone Config to create a lighting function block that you will use to map the Matter device to. This lighting function block should also be available from the mobile app.
There is currently an issue with using the Matter devices with Loxone Scenes - we are investigating it.
🎬 Video tutorial
Let Marcel guide you on how to control Matter devices from Loxone mobile app.
You are able to control certain Matter devices directly from the Loxone app, for example devices from Philips Hue, Ikea, Nanoleaf, Eve, Nuki Door Locks etc.
Step 1: Setup in the Loxone Config
First add function blocks (e.g., lighting) to the system using Loxone Config.
If you want to add a light that is part of the Lighting Controller, double-click on the chosen controller. This will open a new window where you can configure the settings. Under the
Light Circuits
tab, you can add a new light by typing its name in the input field and selecting the type of the light. If it is a simple on/off light, select Switch
; if it is dimmable, select Dimmer 0-100%
; and if it is an RGB light, select RGB
. Once you have finished configuring, click
OK
and lights will be added to the Lighting Controller.
You can also add standalone devices by selecting the appropriate function block from the drop-down menu. In the properties panel, you can edit the
Name
, Room
and other properties of the device that will then appear in 1Home. For the device to appear in the 1Home Server Dashboard, ensure that Use in User Interface
is enabled and that the Loxone user you are using with 1Home Server has the necessary permissions to control the device.
After configuring the devices in the Loxone Config, upload the changes to the Loxone Miniserver by clicking the Save in Miniserver
button in the top-left corner.
Step 2: Discover Loxone device in 1Home Server
Once you have the device configured in the Loxone Miniserver, discover it in the 1Home Server by following the instructions here: Adding Loxone devices.
Step 3: Enable synchronization of you Matter device to your Loxone device
Now continue to our setup wizard (under Integrations > Loxone > Sync 1Home Devices with Loxone
) to sync this new Loxone device with the Matter device that you have paired to your 1Home Server.
Matter device types that can be mapped to Loxone
Supported Matter devices that you can sync into Loxone app:
- On/Off Plug
- On/Off Light
- Dimming Light
- Color Temperature Light
- Color Light
- Door Lock
Other device types cannot be synced via the Loxone API that is currently available. However you can freely use Matter devices alongside Loxone devices in 1Home Automations. Check the next sections for more details.
Option 2: Combine Loxone and Matter devices in 1Home Automations
🎬 Video tutorial
Follow Marcel and create your first Automation using both Loxone and Matter devices (skip to creation of automation at a timestamp 4:14).
You can create automations with 1Home Automations and use both Loxone and Matter devices interchangeably. This way you can use a Loxone push button to control a Matter light. Or a Matter push button to control Loxone devices. Or any other combination of Matter and Loxone devices.
See Quick start guide to get started with 1Home Automations.
