Everyone is anxiously waiting for the next Google event where the next generation Google Home is expected to be announced. Our team is cheering for a new less expensive Google Home and for Google Home availability in new countries.
We cannot wait to be certified by Google 🙂
Here is a list of rumours flying around before the event.
- Google Home Mini - a direct competitor to Echo Dot, predicted price 49 USD (£49), Google Assistant functionality with fewer far-field microphones and less impressive audio capabilities overall. Expected immediate availability on Google Store, available colours are Chalk, Charcoal and Coral. It’s supposed to have bluetooth connectivity, we hope also for the speaker connector like Echo Dot’s:

- Google Home Max - a competitor to new Amazon Echo, Sonos Play:3 and upcoming Apple HomePod, “premium” in design and materials, better sound, stereo setup consisting of a dual midrange driver and a single tweeter. It is still not clear how much the Google Home Max will cost compared to the $129 Google Home, Amazon's $99 Echo, or Apple's $349 HomePod. No pictures available yet.

- Google Home with display - internally codenamed “Manhattan” will have a similar screen size to the 7-inch Echo Show. The device is expected to offer YouTube, Google Assistant, Google Photos and video calling.  The original target launch date was initially planned for mid-2018. But due to the Echo Show there is intense internal pressure to get this product launched in 2017, though it may still end up being released in 2018.

Sonos to announce new smart speaker on October 4th
In related news, on the same day Sonos is expected to release a smart speaker that can support multiple voice assistants.
“The speaker, codenamed S13, features integrated voice control and far field microphones just like Amazon’s Echo speaker lineup. Uniquely, the S13 also lists support for multiple voice platforms in addition to multiple music services.”
